  • Step 1
    Building Performance Audit and Presentation

    • At PowerHouse, we understand that a building and its occupants function as an interactive system. As such, our comprehensive evaluations take into account not only the structure but they way our clients live and work within that structure. Our team will examine the property with particular attention given to the following:

      Comfort Systems
      Health and Safety
      Lighting Systems
      Electric, Gas and Water Consumption
      Insulation
      Building Tightness
      Window and Doors
Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)

Following the Building Performance Audit, we schedule a consultation with the client to report our findings and present a preliminary layout for a PowerHouse Integrated System which will address each facet of the structure, in addition to the economic impact including:

      Cash Flow Projections
      Cash on Cash Return
      Carbon Footprint Mitigation
      Payoff Timelines
      Explanation of Financial Incentives

  • Step 2
    Integrated System Design

    • With the Building Performance Audit and initial consultation completed, PowerHouse designs an Integrated System that will maximize the structure's strengths and address areas that could be improved. The end goal is to dramatically increase the building's performance, and enhance the way the clients function within that building, while providing a maximum return on investment through long-term cost savings, and more immediate tax credits and rebates. In addition to specific technical recommendations for the structure itself, the Preliminary Integrated System Design incorporates the following:

      Comfort Systems
Applying Financial Incentives and Grant Applications
      Engineering HVAC Changes
Load Reduction Strategies (automated and behavioral)
      Building Envelope Upgrades
      Conservation Technology Installation
      Power Generation Technology
      Total System Cost
      Total System Return on Investment

Armed with options for increasing the efficiency of their home or business, and a clear understanding of both the costs and savings involved, clients determine if, how and when they would like to move forward with Complete System Implementation.

  • Step 3
Complete System Implementation and Verification of Results

    • With more than a decade of contracting experience and our wide-ranging team of contract specialists, PowerHouse is prepared to refine each system based on the specific needs and investment goals of the client, and then to execute all of the work necessary — from the actual construction through to the filing of government paperwork — to fulfill the client’s ultimate objectives.

From start to finish, PowerHouse can manage every aspect of the process.

After the system has been installed, we can verify performance increases based upon projections in the system design phase. We encourage the installation of easy-to-use monitors which will help clients “drive” their buildings more efficiently in terms of energy consumption, conservation and generation capabilities.
